The British Summer School in Bulgaria "Arkutino"

The idea of Arkutino combines the British experience and English language learning system with the unique Bulgarian nature. After this concept the first British Summer School in Bulgaria was founded as a project of the Cyril and Methodius International Foundation. The first two pilot sessions of the project were held in August 2010. The summer of 2011 makes us confident that the School is well received by the public and has turned to a regional center for vacational studies and practice of Englidh language.

For more deatiled information or if you would like to reserve a place, please visit the offidial website of The British Summer School "Arkutino".

Pedagogical Approach
(24 hours of English a day)

All pupils receive 20 hours a week of structured English language tuition and practice and also benefit from daily exposure to English in a range of situations and activities they would not normally be exposed to. Pupils are continually speaking English both during lessons with the teachers and outside with our entertainers. The learning experience is not confined to the classroom, but continues throughout the day.
Lessons are tailor-made by teachers using many different resources and from their extensive experience in teaching.
Our aims are to: arouse curiosity about language; stimulate reflection on language; encourage collaboration rather than competition; facilitate learning; activate existing knowledge; and build confidence.

Watch the short film for the School held in 2011 online

We believe the kids had an unforgetable vacation at the seaside where the interactive English language learning is combined with lots of games, sports and cultural tourism. This can be seen on the short DVD film and the numerous pictures which have captured the children's cheerful and carefree mood and the atmosphere of this beautiful place.

"...What's been created in Arkutino is an English environment for the children where they practice English all day everyday...
The school is well resourced with multimedia equipment in every classroom, a large hall for group activities and extensive teaching materials..."
